What is Recovery Housing?
This is a very informative presentation about Recovery Housing. You read the transcript of the presentation below or visit American Addiction Treatment Association website and view the webinar.
Webinar: The Opioid Crisis, Affordable Care Act, State Initiatives and National Developments
The opioid crisis has prompted many to reconsider the extent and effectiveness of our system for addressing addiction. Last year Congress passed the 21st Century Cures Act, which provides states with funding for a range of services targeting the crisis. Recovery housing is one of the services authorized under Cures. Recently the National Council for Behavioral Health sent a letter to the heads of all state addiction agencies recommending that they apply some of their new funding to the support of recovery housing systems in their state that have adopted national best practices. The National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) is cited in the letter as the preferred best practice standard, and also supports affiliates in many states hard hit by the opioid crisis. This webinar will cover how recovery housing has grown and changed in recent years to become a significant element in the addiction treatment and recovery support field. Topics will include emerging state regulatory approaches, service coordination models, reimbursement issues and other factors that have contributed to the changing landscape for residential addiction and recovery services.
